joint hurts so lets run and abuse it more, just stay home and hit your knee with a hammer 10x 😅
people's personal experiences as well. Them.. the people themselves. Apart from studies.
Everybody is entitled to their opinion. Me to mine . You to yours. Others to themselves. Some people can tolerate the stress of running. Some just can't for number of reasons potentially. Physiology and body structure. Medical reasons. And outpacing nutrition reserves faster than nutrients get replenished back.... All examples.
It’s not an opinion, it’s data. Absolutely every body is different and no one has to run. But it’s inaccurate to simply say it’s bad for the knees. My job is to help people understand that and show them IF they want to run we can figure that out.
Maybe partly a training issue. But really because the body can't take that shocky movement without effects.
This is inaccurate information. There are multiple large scale studies showing that there is no higher incidence of knee injury or osteoarthritis in runners than non-runners. As someone who has not only be coaching, but researching running extensively for 12 years I am happy to point you to that information so we can stop these outdated ideas.
Can you use this machine without having to pay for I fit?
Yes, you can use it in manual only mode
if you runner your drink beer you done
Hahahah atta girl 😂❤
Hi. It does work for support. I have a burstitis of the knee at the front. I find it lifts the skin off of the bursa sac, and takes a little friction off of it. All the best.👍🏾🇬🇧
Well done
Is good for walking all day ?
Dear Beer Mile, hold my beer
alfhyfly next 3 Will make me faster like next 2 or alfhyfly next 2 is better?
Hi soul, excellent video, I'm quite new to running and last week I looked everywhere for the Nike alphafly next 2 shoe after I saw good reviews about the shoe and saw that it could help me break my record in a 3 kilometer run, but since the new Nike alphafly next 3 model is out, it's no longer available the model my question is if I buy the new model in the video it has the same components that can push me forward and break records like the old model because I heard from some people that it is more suitable for marathon runs
Run with protection, privacy, pick different run routes to be safe alert someone kindly without action night run! hi fives Amanda
TAPE TOOK ALL MY HAIR OFF 😂
Exito
Hola! Muchas gracias por el video,es exactamente lo que necessities. Editor ,Saludos desde Puerto Rico.
seasonal vs core just color combos?
Nice run through of the shoes. Would have loved if you could have commented on the use of them a little more e.g. for which kind of runs would you use them 6k, 21k full marathons or longer? I've been doing trail running from 10k to 50k and with that loving my Hoka Mafate and SpeedGoats, but now I'm signed up for a couple of road marathons and looking for a suitable shoe for those +40km runs. I'm not trying to set a speed record and being a casual trail runner, I'd say I have more of a jog style than a running style, if that makes sense? To save my legs on those longer runs would you recommend a more plush shoe like the Bondi or would you say that as a non-elite runner, I'd be better of with the saved weight of say the Mach? On the BondiX and breakdown of the carbon fiber plate, how long would you say they last and what are you left with once they are reduced in term of spring?
I give this a try
what determines the percentage of stretch?
Been nursing a meniscus tear for a couple weeks. Nothing so severe i want surgery, so i hope this helps 😊
OMG, please stop with the terrible music.
I knew my hip flexors were a little tight but these stretches help me realize one hip is much tighter than the other. Thank you Amanda!
Really wished we could see what you were doing. If you’d have focused in more on your knee than your house I might have learned something
You should mirror your videos so things aren’t backwards 😊
I know, trying to just get it done fast as everyone said that was good enough 😜
I ran a tempo workout training run and a 1/2 marathon race in the V1 model. Have to say I disagree with you on a couple of points. 1. Carbon plated shoes do not wear out quicker than non plated shoes. The foam in super shoes is certainly not gonna last as long as more rigid and less responsive foam but much of that is going to depend on the runner's weight and stride / foot strike. The plate itself is not going to wear out prematurely. 2. This shoe has more grip than any of my other "super shoes". More than any version of the Vaporfly (I have had every version), more than Hoka Rocket X2, lots more than any incarnation of the Saucony Endorphin and even more than the Adidas Adios Pro v2 or v3. I compared the recent half marathon run in these to a similar half marathon ran 3 months ago in the Vaporfly 3. Almost all my running dynamics were the same. The one that was different was stride length with the Fast-R showing a slightly increased stride length of 1.26 meters vs 1.24 in the Vaporfly. The results were almost identical also. 1:29:11 for the Vaporflys on a extremely flat course and 1:29:20 for the Fast-R on a mostly flat course.
I stared it has better traction. I work directly with shoe companies to understand the technology and all of them across the board say their carbon shoes have more like a 200 mile lifespan compared to 500 of standard shoes
@@RunToTheFinish Yeah, I heard that part but also the wouldn't use this on a rainy day part. Just want to ensure viewers don't get the wrong idea as this shoe has been traction in the wet than my other "super shoes". I agree with ya on the shorter lifespan, but that is largely due to the foam used and not that it has a carbon plate.
I said I would use it, would not use vaporfly
From my experience, this shoe fits small. I usually wear 9.5 but with Puma, I need to wear 10.5. I have done a few slow test runs under 5 miles only not ready to do half or full yet.
I hope you still receive comments I have completely Acl tear can I play football with this method??
You can absolutely play with it. I’m not a Dr so I don’t know that it’s enough or advisable
I don't trust any company you cannot contact
they have an entire customer support guide on how to contact them, so i have no idea what this means. I don't work for them, but I know that
Hi!!! Which one would you recommend for an every day user (not runner) for comfort? Like the one one
clifton or bondi - bondi even more cushioned, but you may not like the look as well
Thank you ma’am! I realize that I’m doing all of these 😭 I come from a strength training background and I’ve always ran… but nothing more than 4 miles. Im prepping for my first marathon and I really want to take this serious and have no problems the day of. Today I had to worst diarrhea.. good thing I was running on the treadmill so I was able to get to the restroom. I was going for a long run but I only got to mile 4, tried running again after and it was just a no. Thank you for the advice I’ll definitely try running with no pre workout, maybe not eating so many veggies and ummm actually taking gels/ hydration. Much love for you girl! 🙏
My wife an I have carried Sabre spray while running since 2003. A sheriff actually recommended it to us after having trouble with loose dogs on our running route. Great stuff!
Thanks Amanda! Such great content on your channel!!!! Thanks to your video, I want to give the Kinvara 14 a try, but I have no store anywhere near me in CO. I'll have to order it. I have low arches, and the Endorphin Speed 3, and Triumph 21 fit my flat feet well. Is the Kinvara in the same ballpark as to the shoe's arch profile?
yup pretty similar, I think they use the same last for them, so should feel same
Really helpful video thanks👍
Woah you made an exercise your entire personality you must be so fun
I need an all-rounder as i am just getting jnto running, but am planning to do recovery runs, sprint intervals, and long runs with one shoe. I don’t know what my preferences might be, but I know that I would like to start running faster.
Is it good for IT BAND injuries?
Could help unload some, but honestly the strength work is going to be the biggest fix there
I just watched your video, and I have very bad knees, so I just finished with the taping. It really does add support….. I can feel it. Tomorrow is the test…10 work hours on cement plus stairs…I will let u know….crossing fingers…..
Ten hours at work, it gave me lots of support. I still need to position the tape better but lots of improvement today. Also, I’m gonna shave around the knee so tape stays better. Thank u!!!!
Hey Amanda! Thanks for the video. I am Kassim. I am 61 years old and also active doing running and cycling. I injured my right knee while running 6 month ago and did an MRI. There is a flap tear at the posterior horn of the medial meniscus and another displaced flap tear at anterior to the posterior root attachment. Since then I have regain full motion of my right knee and did some running and cycling. I still feel some soreness on my knee and feels abit tight when doing full bending. I am considering to do surgery to repair the tear and did an MRI again. The displaced flap tear is stable while there is a slight increase in size of the flap tear on the posterior horn of medial meniscus. I understand that you went for surgery after your injury. May I know after how long you had the injury that you decide to go for surgery? Why do you decide to go for surgery? I want to continue my running and cycling. In the long term I worry I may further damage my knee if I don't do surgery now. Please advice. Thanking you in advance for your reply.
I couldn’t fully extend my leg so was in pain all the time. I had a few other things done in surgery, but that was 5 years ago and now I run pain free. Have done 1500+ miles a year, so it was worth it to me. Recovery was a good 10 weeks before even run/walk and then slow rebuild
❤thank you! So hard so helpful! You’re the best!!
I too didn't dislike the AF2 but I do think this one is the best Alphafly yet. But that chunk they took out of the heel makes it harder for heel strikers late in long runs or races when form breaks down. It's like the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro in that way.
I feel like it's very possible my opinion would change if I raced 26.2 in both shoes. I haven't tested the Mizuno, but remember you talking about it!
I am a heel striker and slow runner but the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro V1 is perfect for me. No heel.. No problem.. You naturally land more forward. But VERY difficult to walk in them..
@@i.p2088 I love that shoe. You likely land far enough forward on the heel to not feel the lack of midsole. Heel strikers that land at the rear of the heel will feel it acutely
Is it best to take the Imodium race morning?
Yes if you’re going to use it, just that morning
Stumbled onto your page. Nice video. A suggestion I would have is if you change this from a review into a first impressions video. Then after you’ve run a number of miles in it, maybe 25-50? Then release another video for the full review since then you’ve had some time on foot and have developed your thoughts on a review. This gives you double the amount of content to post as well! Great work!
Thanks for the note. I have run in the shoe multiple times and do share that in the article
Can you confirm that the mens and women’s shoes for Alphafly 3 are both exact shoes in in terms of symmetry, build etc… Basically a womens US size 9.5 Is exact as US mens 8.0?
Everything I’ve seen confirms it’s Unisex, but they did print different prototype numbers on men vs women
Very thorough. Thanks for putting this out there.
Super appreciate this!!
After viewing about ten videos showing various methods of taping a knee, I settled on this one. I am a 69 yr-old pickleball player, about 40 years post-op for ACL and medial meniscus damage. My knee has been hurting for about two weeks, and I have been icing it, resting and applying compression. It has gradually gotten "better", but this taping method gave me immediate, amazing pain relief! Thank you (and your cat)!!!
😁😁sooo glad it helped
Tore my meniscus just before Thanksgiving. Trying tapping on my own for the 1st time & your video was exactly what I needed. Followed every detail & my knee feels supported. Thank you!
